Poppy Appeal 2017/18

So far the Poppy Appeal 17/18 in Welwyn Garden City has raised £62,000. On behalf of the Royal British Legion Branch a big THANK YOU for all your support.

Poppy Appeal 27/10/2018 – 10/11/2018

The branch poppy appeal got off to a good start with the Lady Mayor (Councillor Barbara Fitzsimon) and our member of Parliament (Grant Shapps) in attendance. The Air Cadets put in a great show in John Lewis (even getting their padre involved nice to see you Sir next year also we hope) collecting a grand total of £412.75, unfortunately we do not have the amount collected by the Sea and Army Cadets from Morrison at the moment but well done to you all. Also four members of the Branch attended a photo shoot at the fountain as a display of large poppies had been placed around the crown of the fountain, with the Lady Mayor (Councillor Barbara Fitzsimon) in attendance. A remembrance parade had been organized at Stanborough School by Alfie Kerr (R.M. Cadet) and attended by Dave Forster (Branch Chairman) and Tony Cousins with the whole school in attendance and Last Post and Revile played by members of the school music class.
